Backstory/Scriptures, and trying to figure an RP angle
Hey guys, figured I'd try and get some information here as you guys are the oldest Amarrian RP'ers that I know of.
Since my trial account ended I've been part of a little pirate group operating in Minmatar space, liberating former Amarr property. Unfortunately, everyone sort of up and stopped playing. I've decided that I really like PvP, though, and the thrill and money of 0.0 and low-sec. On the other hand, I also really like RP, and something to do with the Amarr. I then did some browsing and thought... CVA, or save up some SP and apply to BL-IN. Or maybe try something different.
Tentatively, my Khanid character is sort of a progressive Scripture thumper, and as we all know they're probably the best fun you can have outside of bed. But then I wondered: is there anyway to combine this so I end up a supporter of Sansha's Nation? From what I've read on transcranial microcontrollers, it's basically a more extreme version of Sansha's mind control implants, and of course the Khanid are more accepting of outside tech. The Cyber-Knights especially would probably be prone to using pirate gear such as the Sansha slave implants or whatnot. And, from what I've read, the Amarr empire basically approved of what Sansha was doing - it was just interfactional pressure that did them in. I'm guessing the -8 standings are just a weird relic of game not agreeing with fiction, such as the Thukker tribe standings. Basically, from what I see, there are real good reasons why a Khanid/Amarr fanatic would support the Nation - look ma, no more Vitoc! Insta-conversion of the heathen to votary, and Sansha's vision of an upperclass supported by mindless drones goes right well with the current status quo in Amarr-land.
On the other hand, I may have not been reading enough backstory. Which brings me to the topic title...
is their a compilation of scripture (especially) and perhaps a compendium of Amarr history in one spot? I gotta say, the stuff on the main website is pretty scant.
Any help is appreciated
All PF about anything in EVE is pretty hard to come by, because CCP has not bothered to publicize anything more than the Chronicles, short stories and what they do in E-ON magazine that only the subscribers know about.
There is some snippets of the Scriptures here.
You can find some snippets in the short story Theodicy and scattered in game in some ship descriptions.
I can understand that you can see Sanshas being approved by the Amarrians back in the day, but you must remember that at that time Sansha was a scientist that approached the Empire with a new approach to slave controlling.
There was no Vitoc, just Glaive collars, slaverhounds and guards.
Of course the Empire supported some oddball scientist in finding a more economical way of controlling slaves.
When his mad schemes came to fruition Amarrians backed out and saw what Sansha did was an abomination and since then they have been seen as such.
Abomination onto God.
You see, there is this concept of Sin in the Amarrian Empire.
And slaves are doing penance by serving the Empire of God to save their souls.
If they are mindless their souls will never be saved.
Some Holders and Amarrians do not give a damn, they just want ISK and cheap labor force.
But in no way you can draw a conclusion that Amarrian Empire would be friendly with Sanshas Nation.
Perhaps its founder was seen as a good tool to develop slave controlling methods back in the day.
As the Nation is now.
The Thukker tribe standings change has not been explained to the general public, neither the standings change between Amarrians and the Khanid.
Sanshas bad standings with the Empire is not such a blunder.
Thukker standings change can be seen as they falling further away from the Republic by not supporting their Council.
Khanid standings increase can be seen as the Kingdom having their Unionist faction becoming the strongest there.
Sanshas are pirates, they kill innocents just for the kicks and they spend their days protecting asteroids.
They are not called a pirate faction for no reason.
So in my opinion, a Khanid/Amarr Scripture thumper would never be in the same bed with the Sanshas Nation.
You may want to talk to True Core people in the OOC forums where the Scripture snippets are located.
Important point to make sure you know (sorry i you already do):
The Khanid bloodline does not equal the Khanid Kingdom or the House Khanid that rules the Kingdom.
The Khanid race doesn't even come from anywhere near the Kingdom - they were native to Athra, just like the Amarrians were. (The Udorians were as well, for that matter.)
No reason you can't be a Khanid from the Kingdom ofc (Or anything else.)
