The night surrounded him, the city was silent. Coljun looked at Rahl scratching his head absently. He read the letter again, though he knew exactly what it said. Coljun looked around the rise, there was someone on the edge, Rahl barked but Coljun restrained him quickly.
“Shh Rahl, we must be quiet. Pay no attention to that”
Rahl whined silently. Coljun knelt before the wolf and detached the small golden oak from his collar. Tears welled up in Coljun’s eyes, but he smiled faintly at Rahl. He read the letter one last time and then wrapped it around the oak.
“Stay here Rahl”, he whispered
Coljun walked up to Nakthis’ hut, he quickly glanced inside making out her sleeping form. He hesitated, he could still change his mind, no he had caused enough trouble and worries it was for the best that he left, for everyone. He put down the letter and walked back to Rahl. They took the elevator down where Claw was waiting, Coljun mounted up and looked back over his shoulder. He smiled, but tears ran down his cheeks.
“Lets go my friends, the world is waiting for us”
Coljun rode off into the unknown as the first rays of light touched the sky.

I have come to the decision to leave you, tear stain too much trouble for some of you and too little help to others. I will miss you all and I might return now and then, but do not count on it to be too soon. tear stain worry too much about me, I’ll be fine. This is not farewell, just goodbye for a long time.
