Weapon Training in the Scarlet Monastary
After managing to acquire an extremely well made new crossbow as a gift from a recent acqaintance, Ampara decided that she needed to test out this new piece of equipment before venturing into the more dangerous areas of Azeroth. Her orc friend Zanne suggested that a likely place to do that would be the Scarlet Monastary, as the humans inside should present a tough enough target.
They decided that in order to give Ampara's bow the best workout, they would tackle the Scarlet Zealots in the Armoury first before moving on to the more hardy characters inhabiting the Cathedral. They bravely, yet quickly, fought their way through the throng to face Herod. By this time Ampara had become accustomed to the weight and feel of the new weapon she was wielding and her shots were more accurate and effective. As a consequence, when coupled with Zanne's more than capable technique, this meant that Herod didn't stand much of a chance. To round things off nicely, even though Ampara was alarmed when he called forth his "Blades of Light" in a final, desperate act of vengance, Zanne was more than ready with her own method of dealing with all of his minions. This involved the use of some goblin technology, the effects of which can probably be imagined.
After defeating Herod, and taking out his small army in a single stroke, Ampara and Zanne decided to pit their wits against the likes of Scarlet Commander Mograine. After successfully preventing all of his supporters from aiding him through the use of assassin techniques while the his back was turned, Ampara and Zanne faced the mighty general himself. The fight was going well; however in the moment of victory when the Commander had collapsed unconscious on the floor, the doors at the back of the Cathedral opened to reveal High Inquisitor Whitemane. Ampara was horrified to discover that the Commander had not been slain as she had thought; Zanne, however, simply jumped back into the fray and immediately pounced on the reborn Commander. Ampara gathered her wits and sent her faithful hound after the unwelcome Inquisitor, who was kept occupied by the threatening snarls and growls, which allowed Ampara to demonstrate her newly acquired skill with the crossbow. Meanwhile, Zanne was enjoying herself by shouting out random threats while she fought the hapless Commander, who was clearly no match for her superior skill with the sword. In a short amount of time both these foes were down and after a celebratory lap of the the High Inquisitor's secret chambers, and a moment taken as a mark of respect, it was time to begin the journey back.
