CVA/UK RP Event
There was an idea about organising rp event together with minnies...
Amarr ship transporting important document is tracked down by minnie hunter and engaged in combat... Soon after it we lose contact with this amarr ship, minnie lose contact with their hunter... we know only their last location, we know our ship type (not pilot name), and minnies know only their ship type... Two rescue teams are launched - there is whole constelation to search ( we are searching for exact ship type and his name, not pilot) so its rather difficult task... minnies do the same, but they know only their ship tye and name... so lots of scanning...
Only t1 frigs and cruisers allowed - nor we, nor minnies do not know what happened with both ships - they can be both operational, both destroyed, r only one of them (which one?) so "rescue party" has to be armed... and of course both teams know, that there will be enemy searching party too...
There should be only number limit for each gang, frigs are able to move fatser, so finding lost ships will be easier, but cruisers are safer and have more firepower if enemy shows...
I need comments and help with "polishing" this event - i already talked with Eddie Gordo and Alexander Rahl about it...
Need lots of help with it - i am rather incompetent in creating rp events - this is my first attempt...
Event would ttake place on great territory, so there would be need for some kind of "GMs"... i was thinking about 2 different ones - Amarr one and Minnie one - they would inform both gangs about progress in operation in form of radio messages... This would help in tracking down rp ships - but to find them gang member would have to use scanner...
Those two ships should be bss - as there wont be any bss allowed for participants, they will be easier to find...
Minnie and Amarr pilots names should be a secret to both sides to prevent using location agent to get their location... Travelling thru systems those two should "fight" - damage each other, post some kind of radio messages in local chat, so both teams could use info from, locals to faster track those ships... search is for ships, not the pilots, so it will be a bit more difficult...
Dont know about restricting ship replacement after loosing one... Should it be allowed?
I think this is a great idea. It would add a lot of spice to the dull raiding going on every day. Great initiative, NurAbsal
I am a bit unsure about the hunter and the courier: Were they pod pilots? If so, will they be still around the constellation in question? Or is it more like we will be looking for a running battle, meaning that the two will still be fighting each other when the event starts. Or is the fighting going on between the two only to give locals a hint so they can provide information for our gangs?
As to gang size: I think we definitely need to limit it since the U'K just has many many more active pilots than we have. I think 10 ships on each side should be enough. The complement is up to the respective commander or the personal preference of the pilots.
Well, that's my thoughts for now, I hope this will kick off, I'm sure it would be great fun
I don't know about the numbers really. I'm shure that if this is announced well in advance, we could get a nice fleet going for this. Fact is that 20 ships looking for something in a whole constellation (lets say 5 systems) really seems not that high a number.
I think that, depending on the objectives, we shouldn't have to limit the number of contestants. If the objective is to find the ships as soon as possible, and take something (the information) to safety, then the fleets will be split up in groups anyway. I guess that means that the one lower in numbers could do some guerillia tactics to even up the ods.
The thing I suggest is to widen the area somewhat, to lets say 5 jumps from a certain system. That way the fighting gets spread out enough for numbers to matter less.
Oh, and T1 frigs and cruisers, does that include battle cruisers?
Im up for it. Sounds good. Best way nub, is to set it up as best as you can and give it a shot, it may not run off perfectly but it will run. And then you can see where it went wrong (if it did) and work on it.
More events = good.
HAve it in the Ani constellation, there is some coooool looking shit there im telling you.
You could also cook up a cool RP story about it as that place used to be the home of hte Nefantar tribe (ammatars).
Anyway, u have my support should u need it for anything.
About courier and hunter... they will be pod pilots - but nor CVA nor UK wont know their names... I already found courier, have to find smart minnie for hunter (smart minnie - is that even possible?). No one will know that those pilots are doing this job, so searching using location agent wont be possible...
Finding ship will be only first objective - remember that CVA is looking for only THEIR ship and minnies for THEIRS... they dont know what ship has the opposite side... after finding the ship there will be 2nd objective required for both sides - different for CVA, different for UK - wont tell exactly what, because it will be a little harder to dont let opposite side to accomplish it .
The 2nd objective is for disabling "lucky" founding of ship and finishing event. When one of the sides will find ship, they will get their 2nd objective, and opposite side will get their location and their objective...so there will be still possibility to not allow your enemy to accomplish mission, even if they reached ship first...
I need two minnies, who wont take part in events as participants to help me...One of them will be minnie GM with scripted messages for minnie gang, and the other one... well... it have to be the minnie i can trust (idammit... another impossible thing ), because he will act as minnie hunter chasing amarr courier... He have to be able to pilot bs...
Only t1 frigate and cruisers allowed to participants, so any other ships cant be harmed...
So the people being hunted will have to exercise some willpower not to tell their mates where they are. So its gotta be someone we trust as well if were going down the trust line there
I think thats about the only harsh lynchpin i can see that might derail the whole thing for both sides.
But, hell, give it a shot. You might want to post on our forums to get some responses.
Khal? if you post it on your forum it would be great... or add link to this discussion...
Ill stick a link up in the public section.
btw, we live over here:
Alright, thanks for the answer, Nur. I am really looking forward to this.
