NWO and Factions
I would have started this in the new RP forums but they seem to be down at the moment so I thought as the main story is Amarr-oriented, here would do in lieu.
I'm just wondering what people think the outcome in NWO will be of such stories as the Insorum arc and the less commented on but equally interesting ORE/Mordu flare-up.
Ofc, rationality doesn't play much of a part in CCP stories but as the Amarr Empire has declared war on the BR Covenant there seems to me to be a few possible outcomes to that particular story:
Amarr Empire wins such a war and drives the Covenant into 0.0 space
Amarr Empire does not succeed in overcoming the Covenant and things stay as they are in the Bleaklands.
Amarr Empire actually loses and the Covenant expands its territory in the Bleak Lands.
It's my suspicion that (1) is the outcome CCP has its sights set on. (To my mind (2) would be a waste of time and effort and (3) would be a bit odd given the preponderance of force the Amarr can bring to bear.)
It might be objected, what happens to the BR stations? The answer to the conundrum may be that they are taken over by Amarr concerns, perhaps the Amarr Navy, and nobody needs to worry too much about anything they have in those stations.
The BRs might then be relocated in a 0.0 region (Providence or Catch perhaps?) and new stations set up in their new sovereign systems.
I've had similar thoughts with respect to the Mordus and ORE and their current storyline. At present the Mordu Legion has a scant few systems located in Pure Blind. They are one of the more interesting factions in some respects but very underused. ORE currently exerts sovereignty over the entire Outer Ring (even though it occupies but a few with stations).
My thought is that the Mordu may get new stations and sovereignty in a few Outer Ring systems and ORE may lose its blanket sovereignty of the region as part of both developing the Mordu faction and freeing up some 0.0 that currently could not be used by players for fuel-efficient POSs or indeed Outposts.
Certainly some of the quite deep 0.0 regions where there is blanket sovereignty by one faction but very few actual stations belonging to that faction seem problematic in terms of NWO. For instance, Venal is entirely Gurista sovereignty and therefore could not readily be developed by players. Yet there are a handful of stations. This is in contrast to Stain which is probably rightly wholly Sansha as there are dozens of True Power and True Creations stations in the region.
The implications for RPers in terms of background and the factions we try our best (despite the inanities of CCP) to interact with are what interests me most ofc.
Any thoughts on any of this speculation?
I think you've hit the nail on the head.

Would have been nice but, alas, rather undercut by:
Can't really see the point of Amarr declaring war on the BRs now but whatever...
Maybe it's a medium-/long-term thing...
Maybe the war will lower the sec rating of the systems between Empire and Covenant space, or just make all of the Blood Raider systems 0.0, which would fit in with the NWO.

Yeah that's possible - alternatively a new 0.0 gate may open up in the area and some routes into Bleaks may change (we should recall that NWO will also, allegedly, change the highways among other things...) would be interesting...
Ofc, CCP might have bottled it on the highways - they've been rather quiet on that subject for a bit.
I hope the highways die really.
It seems stupid to have feuding nations connected by 3-4 jumps.
well, they kinda aint feuding now, but hopefully, they will
I bet if anywhere BR's would move to Querious/Period Base, as thats where all thier really good spawns are
