Right, im up for lallara's idea, and i know you guys are hot on rules, but rules = sheer bloody boredom (as we have seen lately, as both sides are unwilling to take risks for fear of losing face - as you may have noticed by the rise in suicides on our side, a tide of boredom has swept em up )
So, lets just nominate one system, set it for tech 1 frigates, tech 1 components, and set up a channel so everyone can have a good banter with it all, set up any rules on the day that they want, have mini events, a good old chat, etc etc. And thats it.
And nothing their counts towards any kind of propoganda or 'we beat you' or anything, we just do it for fun, im sure we all remember that word. I reckon chaven, as our pilots can get to it easy enough, and your pilots wouldnt make it to Ammold with their heads in tact.
I'll be spending alot of my time here i reckon. sounds a blast.
Do it. No rules apart from tech 1'age. (if you've got implants you need shooting anyway)
you know it makes sense.
Im going to set up the channel today. We're going to keep both systems open for combat, Ammold and Chaven.
Those who have hardcore tendencies and want more tender meat they come to you, rest of us sissies sit in Chaven when we want to pick blood from our noses.
Tech 1 frigs, tech 1 mods.
Of course we can have events for the ancients where they can bring their uber fitted elite gankfrigs around if they feel like fighting other than t1 frigs in them, but thats in the future.
And Khal, if a RoE is agreed upon on a bout then all will abide by it. Otherwise the whole gentlemanly combat thing will come down because someone 'felt like rebelling'.
If you like to piss on the rules just for the hell of it, stay the hell away from these bouts.
Lallara I dont think that is what Khal meant, but anyway I think this is a good idea.
Tech 1 frigs with tech 1 equipment in Chaven & Ammold.
Anyone who wants to use something a bit special can do the usual patrols down to Minnie space and see what you can find but lets keep Ammold and Chaven as sparring grounds for all those who want to have good cheap fun and learn about fighting...
Khaldorn make sure UK know the rules and I will make sure CVA knows them as well...
People who are sparring need to use the special channel that Lallara is setting up...
Finally there maybe people who occasionally need to use Chaven/Ammold for other purposes than just sparring. Some kind of agreement needs to be put in place for this...
I think provided that anyone who is not there for sparring makes it clear what they are there for in the channel and doesn't go leaping all over the T1 sparrers it shouldn't be a problem.
Just one quick thing though, AMAX........
lol, lallara does make me laugh, she's like a woman who's pre-mesturl 24-7.
YOU SAID WHAT!! PUT THE TOILET SEAT DOWN! DOGDAMMIT!!!
Hardins right, never said anything about pissing on no rules (although if a mans gotta go, a mans gotta go) The no podding will be half and half, so when you join teh channel, u can simply ask whether poddings in effect or non. easy.
Set the channel up, if people want to use ammold / chaven then they join the channel and say there coming thru peaceful like.
Mistakes will happen, especially in the first few weeks however. So if everyone keeps a cool head about everything, it'll be all good. The no podding is extremely hard to enforce, i personally have no problem with it, being a true pvp'er (lol, never siad good pvp'er), i never use em. Cos your gonna lose them at one point or another.
People say it should be easy to swing away in a pod, thats not always possible whe your lagging to death after being shot (which i tend to do, and the screen always goes, )
OK, ill ask the guys to keep a heads up about this, and send an alliance mail when i get a chance (which wont be tonight i dont think, been rl busy as hell lately)
sorted. I've been missing my god damn rifter anyway
oh bugger, i forgot about Russo and AMAX.
There gonna jump all over this party you realise?
Ive posted on our council forums. an alliance mail will hopefully get sent out.
Be aware that for the first week or two at least, mistakes will happen obviously as not everyone checks the forums and mails, and get a bit jumpy.
Im looking foward to it, it will give the new guys a chance to cut thier teeth, test out setups on each other, and most importantly, learn a bit of respect for each other. Something which alot of us lack at the mo.
And lets keep win/losses off this thing, feel free for the new pilots to write up some sotries on it tho, it might be good inspiration. But propoganda should be left at those systems doors.
Also, its up to the individual pilot to worry about getting to chaven/ammold, safety cant be guaranteed (if it could, it would be boring)
but if your in a frig, thats easy.
AMAX are perfectly reasonable if you talk to them in advance and dont treat them like devils spawn made flesh...
If we ask AMAX to respect whats happening in Ammold and Chaven I am sure they will... Heck they may even want to participate...
Aye, but no one trusts russo, as you well know. i think he's a nutter, but i dont think he'll cross the line here. after all, what would be the point?
Kestrels are a right pain in the rear end tho.
This training arena shoudl also extend to the AA and any other corps who join this war
If there are any willing ones left by the time they introduce consenual wars anyway.....
The channel has been created, check the post on UK/CVA forums for details.
Its restricted for UK and CVA at the moment. After we get this ball rolling the others can join in on the fun, but lets see first does it work. If we cant hold on to the rules we set for ourselves then how could we expect others to do so as well.
Enough cheap shots at AmAx.
Russo is out of Eve for a while. His computer is in a box sitting on a pier somewhere in Dover or something, waiting to be shipped to him at his new posting.
Under my temporary command, there will be no bullshit in AmAx. I've made that clear to the guys. If we are not welcome at these skirmishes, we'll not be present.
I don't expect AmAx to last much longer anyhow. Folks are beginning to realize that we are a dead-end corp: no friends, no recruitment options, no enemies who respect us. Our few remaining pilots are looking elsewhere to seek their fortunes, and I say it's about damn time. Russo never wanted to be accountable for his immaturity, and I never wanted to let go of a brilliant idea that got completely ruined by that immaturity.
I'll be staying in AmAx until I can settle down with a new pro-amarrian corp that is at war with Ushra'Khan, simply because I don't want a lull in combat possibilities: as long as I'm in AMAX I can still go on patrol.
Sorry for the bitter tone, lol. AmAx meant a lot to me, and it's something I finally realized I'm gonna HAVE to let go of, and that kinda sucks. Didn't mean to bite any heads off. I'd love to be present for some frig skirmishes. I need practice in frig combat anyhow: if I'm not in my thorax, I don't know what the hell I'm doing.
I dont see any reason to limit it to CVA <> UK to tell you the truth. Its not practical and we shouldnt exlude those we are at war with (as hell, there are only a few able to afford it).
End of the day, its only a frig you'll lose if things go baldy. So its no biggy.
In a week or so we will know how well this arrangement works. If it does and the Minmatari still have a hunger for beating( ) we will discuss with them what corporations will be a part of this great opportunity.
Im certain that the fighting spirit of the stubborn Minmatari is unquenchable and that other corporations that are part of the conflict can join in on the sparring.
(The channel has an option of allowing people in, currently its just UK/CVA so dont bother trying to join it. When time comes you will be given access.)
adrielle came up with a good point.
Any ships using these systems to escape a good whipping will get followed and ganked. You can assume that for both sides.
Garreck, AMAX do get a lot of bad press but I respect their attitude to this conflict and I'd more than welcome them to these sparring matches. I just realised that you hadn't been mentioned in the discussions and I didn't want you getting whinged at for being out of the loop and russo wandering in on a killing spree
just to add some opinion to this put usual tourny rules make the match rather one sided.
Amarr ships will win because you are limited by how fast you can turn cap into hp and how fast you can damage the other person. Being as your standard punisher can with ease both have almost double the amount of hp and hit for more damage regardless of pilot skill the battle is won before it has started by stats alone.
Im not saying its a bad idea at all, just pointing out that its a rather one sided affair
Why do you think most of us are trying out our inquis and other frigs, we want to see are they worth anything in combat. And you guys can easily EW the shit out of our ships just by packing white noise, while if we want to go the EW way we have to pack all kinds of scrambling mods.
You know what we will be flying, we dont know what you will be until we see them.
Of course if equal odds are overbearing on the superior Amarrian engineering side something else can be arranged. Nothings carved in stone. Only the channel name
