Project Entopia - Anyone heard of it?
Has anyone heard of this game? I guess you can buy ingame money (PED) for real money. There is actually an exchange rate of 10 PED for 1 US Dollar.
There is a story on BBC that one player spent $26k US for a "virtual island" in the game.
I checked out the website for the game myself.
Apparently free to signup. I couldn't tell if you make money (PED) ingame or have to buy it all with real cash. Talk about a "player economy" this is as real as it gets.
looks really great! is there pvp?
if so i might just give it a try!
there are female avatars in underwear!!!!!
OMG!!! they need PIE, we need to bring the word of god to them!
Ugh...it would seem that most of the economy is bought out of gmae with real money.....
I can't say I'll be playing this little distraction for the Rich.
I agree it seems like a "rich mans game". I for one can't imagine spending real money for virtual money. To think this guy spent $26,000 US Dollars on some bytes (island) is incredible.
Well put 10 bucks into it every month instead of the EVE fee. The game itself is free to play.
I tried it out - it sucks. The graphics are not that great, and the gameplay in general is pretty shabby. It's basically constructed in such a way that it's impossible to "make" money, as everything (ammo, items, etc.) costs money. Ultimately, you either keep putting money into the game or you collect animal sweat (their equivalent of mining), which is as mindless as you can imagine. The caliber of players leaves a lot to be desired - worse than Lineage II.
I was pretty underwhelmed.

I love it, witchdoctor That's one of the best expressions of disappointment I've seen.
