A Hope Rekindled
Well, this conversation took place on the MM boards, keep that in mind while reading......
As I read it to myself, I figured there was plenty in there that should be heard in friendlier circles.
My goal is and has always been to fight the minnies as one at least somewhat cohesive unit. My reason for that, and my strong feelings on it are....well...don't take this the wrong way, but when AmAx's aggression was paired with PIE's brute power, we were untouchable! My first months in game saw us literally wading through your fleets with abandon.
While AmAx could never join CVA, I have tried and tried to find some compromise that would allow us to fight as one reguardless. When the new war system for Exodus was laid bare by the devs before deployment, I saw massive problems that would slowly wear away any non-alliance friends on the Amar side. Had CCP not made thier decision today, I would have been right. GL, AmAx, all of it have absoltley DISINTEGRATED in the last week, and in fact have been slowly dying since the day the wars were halted.
But CCP DID make the right decision, which tbh still amazes the hell out of me.
I hope CVA can understand WHY I react towards them the way I did. Much of the input for the idea of a CVA/GL union were from CVA members! When they unilaterally shot the idea down the moment it was officially proposed, I felt set up and made a fool of.
In the end, the very force that broke up the old AmAx/PIE partnership (Russo) ended up breaking apart the next best thing, GL.
However, we have a chance now. CCP has thrown us a bone, and it's a good one filled with promise.
Just so everyone is caught up on what is underway, here goes:
I am forming a corp. Most if not all (but one) of AmAx's brave captains wish to follow. I want to take this new corp and rebuild the GL into an actual alliance, and fight the Holy War once more!
I am hopeful, something I haven't been for some time.
AmAx is all but dead, but there are some very unpleasant things that can be allowed to die with it.
Glad to have still on board!
Seems like the only reasonable thing to do, lighten the load and start fresh.
May God Bless You on this Worthy Endeavour.
/me rolls up his sleeves.
Let's get to work, sir.
Good luck with your new corp. Look forward to seeing you carry on the fight for Amarr!
