Oh yay... succession plans
_Details of Championship plans leaked
A leaked document from the Amarrian Empirical Succession Committee has been circling news agencies in the EVE Universe. Apparently each of the five houses will let a small number of champions compete amongst themselves on who shall represent their house in the championship that ultimately decides which house gets the throne.
Championship fights are frigate matches where a champion along with three wingmen must destroy the ships of a competing champion and his wingmen. While the champion himself must be of pure Amarrian descent, his wingmen are said to be allowed to be of any race and bloodline.
In order to select the Champions that will compete within each hose, the comittee is opting for a controversial method: As a gesture of continuing Heideran VII's legacy of honoring the traditions of other nations, they will allow for every Amarrian citizen to vote for a champion.
This hint of democracy has outraged various Amarrian fundamentalists, amongst them Jamil Sarum, whose spokesman denounces this method of selection as "Heretical and fit for ants and vermin but not pure blooded Ammarians". He elaborated: "Democracy is a proven failure throughout the known Universe and has undermined many civilisations and been the death of many great organisations".
It seems that this will go through nonetheless. Details of this are expected to surface in the coming days._
This smells. I doubt that the heirs who are not 'chosen' will take this lightly. Civil war may be due. Brace for impact.
This is entirely poor; shocking, quite frankly.
Civil war beckons indeed, should this go ahead.
I hope CCP doesn't make this REALLY decide who's gonna get the throne. I mean they won't make mockery out of their own background story right? After all it's a player reporter, not directly from ccp.
[size=9]_House of Kor-Azor demands positive standings for potential champions
A spokesman for one of the five contending houses to the throne of the Amarrian Emperor, the Kor-Azor, has issued a statement regarding the upcoming election that will allow Amarrians to select their candidate for the upcoming championship fights. "The House of Kor-Azor has decided to approve of the Empirical Succession Committee's system of voting representatives for each house in order to pre-select contenders for the sacred ritual of succession. The House of Kor-Azor wants to stress that any candidate that intends to go forward as a representative of the house, must have a positive standing towards that house, as measured by the CONCORD Interstellar Standings Code ( ISC ). Our champions must have proven their allegiance to us in order to be allowed to fight on our behalf.”
Representatives of other houses weren’t available for comment but they are expected to follow this example of demanding positive standings for their candidates._
Time to leave the Empire. Preparations for an exile in Khanid are currently made. An Emperor determined in this fashion is unacceptable. It's a slap in the face of every true loyalist. I have the feeling that CONCORD will try to make sure that Kor-Azor will be the next Emperor.
Hmm, this sucks. Democracy in Amarr? That's like uh, letting saddam into "For love or money". No it's alot worse ! Argh.
See my post on the CVA forum please
what is the cva forum
Have cc'd the post here, for the benefit of those not in the CV Alliance:
QUOTEGuys see this thread
I think it will be a great shame if the Devs think that they can turn the Amarrian succession into an event for other races and not just Amarr... - See Dasham Nestorik's post.
Can I suggest that as many of you (and not just PIE people) as possible express your dislike of the idea of non- Amarr pilots taking part in this event and make it clear that you will not support Amarr champions who suggest non-Amarr wingmen.
The rules and sign ups for the championship have begun.
I give fair warning now: 2 days before the matches begin I will be leaving PIE, restarting the Knights of the Holy Inquisition, and shall spend my last isk on ships to destroy these matches.
There will be chaos when I have finished.
Nnoing fair enough - Just rejoin us afterwards
May the Heir worthy to the throne guide your actions, chaplain.
Annoing, I would like to join you on this crusade, When is the tournament scheduled again?
