PIE Gathering 20th Sep@2100 EvE
Ave Praetoria and Distinguished guests,
Just a reminder and a little info for this weekends gathering.
The date and time is this Saturday, the 20th of September at 2100 EvE time.
The location will be in the PIE HQ - Ready Room channel. If you do not currently have the channel listed or have trouble getting in just contact myself or one of the other PIE officers and we'll get you sorted.
The location, as also descibed in the channel MOTD, can be described as follows...
Located in the Emperor Family Academy station in orbit over Oris is the Praetoria Imperialis Excubitoris headquarters facility; a multi-decked complex placed near the central naval docking rings which house a large portion of the station's Imperial Navy garrison. The headquarters itself is comprised of PIE's primary administrative offices, central command dispatch adjoined with its vast corporate and member hangars within the station. The ready room is a circular chamber that can comfortably fit about thirty people, and is used by PIEâ€s capsuleer pilots when they are on stand-by, using the station services, or are simply off-duty and wish to carouse with their peers. It sits on the edge of the hangar facilities dedicated to the greater alliance, with the most noticeable feature of the room being a window that takes up one-third of the curved wall and offers a spectacular view of the docked fleet lining the inside walls of the station. Each massive ship bears a PIE insignia and the names given to them by their pilots and they vary in class and size from small shuttles to lumbering battleships. The dockyard outside is hotbed of activity with work crews bustling around the ships that are tethered to the station. Occasionally a ship will embark or disembark as a Praetorian pilot leaves or enters the station, off to their assignments in the Empire abroad. The room itself is a hybrid of casualness and order, with a relaxed atmosphere that still retains the professionalism and dignity befitting a more formal Imperial officer's lounge. Several black and brown leather armchairs, small tables and two couches are arranged neatly around the room, most of them facing a central holodisplay that usually shows a star map of the Empire when idle. Left of the window is a wide mahogany and brass self-serve refreshment bar that is stocked with a decent selection of fruits, coffees, teas, soft drinks and a few select bottles of fine Amarrian wines and spirits. A digital library console sits on the edge of the bar, advertising music, holovids and reading selections that can be instantly downloaded to a userâ€s datapad or be displayed upon the roomâ€s central display upon demand. The floors are covered in plush tan and royal blue carpeting, except around the bar which features hardwood flooring made of the same mahogany the bar is made of. The room is attended to by a sharply-dressed butler slave at all times, who keeps the bar stocked, the room tidy and those waiting inside comfortable.Three doors are place equidistant from each other, two flanking the window and one standing directly across from it. The door between the bar and the window leads to the living quarters and recreation areas for staff and pilots, while the door to the right of the window leads to the docking ring and capsule preparation rooms. The hall beyond the door opposite to the window leads deeper into the headquarters. For the purposes of our gathering the location can also be expected to include several more servants/waiters as necessary. The majority of the leather arm chairs will have been temporarily removed and the room slightly reorganized to allow for the placement of a long banquet table with chairs along either side as appropriate for the number of guests present and with a single chair at the table head. The table will be aligned perpendicular to the large main window. Each place setting will be complete with a nametag designating for which person the seat is reserved. Admirals of PIE will be seated at the head of the table, with the ranking officer seated directly at the head, facing the window. Honored guests should be seated directly below the Admirals and remaining PIE/PAUX/PCLAS officers should seat themselves in order by descending rank towards the foot of the table. Once official toasts have been made and a light dinner has completed all present may feel free to exchange seats or move around the table while deserts and drinks are served and dinner is concluded. The occasion should be considered semi-formal. Officers of PIE/PAUX/PCLAS should be present in a standard Dress uniform with minimal medals/regalia. Alliance members and honorable guests need not come in uniform as some may not possess such attire but should instead arrive in modest dinner dress.Once everyone likely to attend has arrived (I assume no later than 2130) we will begin by having PIE, PAUX and PCLAS members in rank and file formation. At this time they will be addressed by the highest ranking Officer present or otherwise designated representative.Once official business has been concluded and at the discretion of the officer in charge those members in formation will be ordered to fall out. At which time guests will be directed to the banquet table for a light dinner, drinks and deserts during which a prize will be awarded to a random capsuleer (PIE/PAUX) ranked Commander or lower. Once the winner has been selected, all present should feel free to move around the room and enjoy the refreshments and entertainment provided while socializing with their cohorts, allies and guests until each feels they are ready to depart. Some of those present may depart on a fleet patrol afterwards, so if you may consider joining I ask you you have a suitable ship/ships ready at 24th Imperial station Mehatoor. I look forward to seeing all present who are able to attend. Until then God bless, fly safe and Amarr victor.Daemun of Khanid
