Long Slow Step Up
I'm once again dabbling in EVE with my wee Amarr miner and I'm in need of a bit of advice. Once I have trained my Amarr frigate 3 and Industry 1, I intend to purchase a ship with a larger cargo hold than my little Tormentor. What would be a good choice for my neglected little chap, the Bestower or the Sigil?
For mining? I would get a bestower (bigger hold) but still mine in the tormentor.
Find a quiet system and move both ships there. (You can repackage your tormentor and put it in the bestower to move both, although this will void any insurance ont he tormentor.) Then mine in the tormentor and when you get some rock, rightclick and jettison it and them move all subsequent rock you mine into that can. It will stay there for a good hour or so or until someone blow it up or empties it.
then you just mine until the can has a nice heap, dock with your tormentor, change tot he bestower and go and pick up the can.
You can mine with either a bestower or a sigil, but they can only fit 1 mining laser and have no mining bonus (tormentor can fit 2 lasers and has a mining bonus) so it will be very, very slow.
Suggestion is Nishah. 0.6 system 2 jumps from amarr. You can still join the action when opportunity arises.
You'll have to forgive the ignorance, like I say I only dabble. But if I have left my bestower to mine in the tormentor, could some random opportunist swipe the unmanned bestower?
You leave it in the station. Noone can get to the stuff you leave in stations.
Ta for the advice, I shall give this an investigation.
